Cooperstown Chronicle Baseball League News Article | |  | Wednesday, March 21st, 1956: Cardinals Shortstop Hurt Johnny Lipon of the St. Louis Cardinals could be headed for the disabled list after suffering a strained thigh muscle in a game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He is expected to miss at least one week. The St. Louis shortstop was injured running the bases. Lipon said, "Right now I am pretty sore and I don't feel very good at all."
