Sunday, August 25th, 1957: Injury Forces Jim Suchecki Out
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre closer Jim Suchecki has a tender elbow, suffered while throwing a pitch. He's expected to be out for 2 weeks.

Sunday, August 18th, 1957: Super Swinger! Snyder Slams 5 Hits!
Jerry Snyder really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Walnuts Ballpark, the Rochester shortstop blistered the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees for 5 hits in 7 at-bats to pace his club to a 9-3 victory.

"Snyder was too tough to get out today," the Yankees skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."

J. Snyder singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 8th, hit an RBI double in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 12th.

This year Snyder has socked 96 hits in 370 at-bats for a .259 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .327 pace and his totals also include 46 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
