Monday, July 8th, 1957: Star of the Week Named in NL
Jim Pendleton has just enjoyed one of the better weeks of his career. That fact was not lost on AA NL officials, who named him Player of the Week.

Pendleton logged a .435 batting average for the Connecticut Defenders, racking up 6 RBIs and 3 home runs.

So far this year in 81 games Pendleton is hitting .255 with 14 home runs, 48 RBIs and 54 runs scored.
Saturday, May 25th, 1957: Necciai Struts Stuff in Connecticut Win
Reading's Ron Necciai brought his "A game" to the park, shutting down and shutting out the Connecticut Defenders 6-0. He racked up 2 strikeouts, surrendered 2 hits and issued 1 walk on his way to the victory.

What a week it was for Jim Pendleton! The Connecticut left fielder took AA NL Player of the Week honors after wearing out the pitchers with a .435 batting average in his recent games.
