It's official!
Rex Barney of the Reading Phillies is the AA NL Pitcher of the Month.
In July he dominated the league with 4 wins and 1 loss in 5 starts.
In 40 innings of work Barney chalked up 18 strikeouts, 18 walks, a 2.48 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .190 batting average.
In 20 starts this season Barney has fashioned a 8-10 record and a 3.30 ERA. |

When it came to hitting the baseball, Charlie Lau was in a class by himself in the AA NL this past week. Nobody did it better.
The outstanding catcher for Reading tagged opposing pitchers for a .500 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 10 hits in 20 at-bats, 1 homers, 4 runs scored and 3 RBIs.
This year Lau is batting .320 with 6 home runs and 39 RBIs.
