| Breaking News |  | Thursday, August 15th, 1957: Daniels Tosses Shutout Against Lancaster Bennie Daniels of the Kinston Indians really strutted his stuff on the mound today with a 1-0 victory. He was almost untouchable, bewildering the Lancaster JetHawks with a 2-hit shutout in which he struck out 1 and gave up 1 walk.
|  | Friday, July 12th, 1957: Hartung Baffles Lancaster "I hope we miss him next time," the Lancaster manager said. "Hartung certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
The Stockton starter tamed the Lancaster JetHawks 2-0 with a 4-hit shutout, finishing the game with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk in a sharp outing.
"I enjoy facing a team like that where I can get an out on one, two or three pitches," Hartung said. "It gives me a chance to be a lot more aggressive."

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Hartung said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the Stockton skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone."
