| Breaking News |  | Thursday, July 18th, 1957: Tettelbach On Fire! 5-6 for Sarasota! Dick Tettelbach put on a hitting clinic today as the Reds dumped the Threshers 14-2 at Peppers Ballpark. The Sarasota left fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Clearwater pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game.
He told SION reporters after the game, that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."
D. Tettelbach hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.
Tettelbach on the season is batting .300 with 10 home runs. His totals include 41 RBIs and 50 runs scored. A reliever, Juan Pizarro, is the recipient of the A NL Pitcher of the Month award.
