| Breaking News |  | Thursday, July 18th, 1957: Tettelbach On Fire! 5-6 for Sarasota!
Dick Tettelbach put on a hitting clinic today as the Reds dumped the Threshers 14-2 at Peppers Ballpark. The Sarasota left fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Clearwater pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game.
He told SION reporters after the game, that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."
D. Tettelbach hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.
Tettelbach on the season is batting .300 with 10 home runs. His totals include 41 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has played in 64 games.

| Monday, July 1st, 1957: A NL Announces June's Top Pitcher
It doesn't happen often, but it did in June. A reliever, Juan Pizarro, is the recipient of the A NL Pitcher of the Month award.
The Threshers bullpen ace starred with no saves in 10 relief appearances with a 4-0 record, logging 34 innings, 39 strikeouts, 4 walks and a 0.53 ERA.
In 1957 Pizarro has 1 save in 21 relief appearances with a 8-0 record and 1.36 ERA.

| Monday, May 20th, 1957: Week's Best Player - Clearwater's Pavletich
The Clearwater Threshers received word today that catcher Don Pavletich was selected A NL Player of the Week for his stellar performance in last week's games.
Pavletich took full advantage of all 13 plate appearances last week as he hit .636 with 7 hits, 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
On the season, Pavletich is batting .276 with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs. He has played in 32 games.
