Wednesday, November 28th, 1956: $138,400,000 Keeps CF Snider in Chicago (A)
Team officials triumphantly announced that the White Sox and superstar center fielder Duke Snider have closed a deal that keeps the 30-year-old in a Chicago (A) uniform for another 8 years.

Snider will earn $138,400,000 as part of the settlement.

Snider has hit for a .311 career average and totaled 1389 hits, 262 home runs and 864 RBIs.
Wednesday, September 19th, 1956: Washington Wins, Blanks White Sox
Don Larsen of the Washington Senators mixed his pitches well and fashioned a 5-0 shutout today. The 27-year-old hurler shut down the Chicago (A) offense, holding them to 3 hits. He struck out 5 while walking 2.

To this point in the season, Larsen shows a 24-7 record, 34 starts, 272.2 innings, 170 strikeouts and a 3.37 ERA.
Monday, September 17th, 1956: Pesky Tops AL with .345 Average
Chicago (A)'s Johnny Pesky completed the season in style by winning the American League batting crown. He claimed the coveted title by hitting a solid .345 for the year.

The gifted 36-year-old White Sox shortstop chalked up 152 hits during the season with 1 home run, 54 RBIs and 79 runs scored.
